How to Simplify Your Business Tasks and Save Time Each Day

How to Simplify Your Business Tasks and Save Time Each Day

Are you spending hours on your business instead of in your business? Are the daily stresses and tasks taking up so much of your time that you have little energy left to actually live your purpose and fulfill your mission?

Believe me, I’ve been there, waist-deep in anxiety, overwhelm and confusion and feeling like I have nothing to show for my efforts. I felt like I couldn’t breathe, let alone make any forward progress in my business. And that’s how I know there is such a better way!

I made the decision to run my business--not let my business run me—and I made it happen. Now I’m committed to coaching you to do the same thing—that’s my mission!

Simplifying your business is not only possible, it’s totally doable. You can build the biz of your dreams! And the best part is there are just three simple steps:

List, Slash, and Slay!

List

Make a list of all the tasks you need to complete. Some people call this a “brain dump.” Nothing is too big or small, just get it all down! (Tip: If you use Trello or Asana*, you can save your tasks, then make notes and track your progress.)

Slash

Now that you have your (probably long and overwhelming) master to-do list, it’s time to slash it into manageable pieces. To do this, we ask ourselves some questions.

  • Can someone else do this assignment better, faster and ultimately cheaper? If so, outsource it!

  • Once completed, will this create revenue for my business? If not, eliminate it!

  • Is this something you’ll need to repeat over and over again? If so, automate it!

You’ll be left with projects that only you can do, are aligned with your mission, and use your own unique creative genius. This, my friend, is the sweet spot. Operating from this space eliminates the chaos and brings peace, clarity, confidence and fulfillment to your life and business.

Slay

I’m a huge action taker, and if you’re pursuing your own biz I’m sure you are, too. You’re a go-getter, you don’t just sit around and wait. That’s why it’s important to point out that taking action is number three, not number one.

Once you’ve determined which tasks can be eliminated and outsourced, you’re left with your priorities. These are the things you want to spend your time, effort and energy on. Start with the most important ones—those with upcoming due dates and tasks that will make you money. (After all, we women gotta eat!)

So many new entrepreneurs skip the first two steps, a mistake I made myself. This is the quickest way to waste time, make little impact and burn yourself out.

Following these simple steps will bring you more work life balance, impact, and business. So where are you at? Let’s chat about where you are and where you want to be. Then let’s close that gap!

The world needs you and your business—this is your time!
